DP Coding Sync Issue (May 12–21) Resolved and DP Coding Contributions Restored

We want to make you aware of an issue that affected some Giving Experiences between May 12–21, 2025.

During this time, updating a Giving Experience (GE) that had DonorPerfect (DP) coding caused that coding to be unintentionally removed. As a result, any contributions on affected Giving Experiences synced during that period may have landed in DonorPerfect without DP coding applied.

Here’s what we’ve done to make it right: The issue was fully resolved as of May 21. We’ve restored DonorPerfect coding to all affected Giving Experiences. We’ve also re-synced all contributions made between May 12–21 to ensure your DonorPerfect records are complete and accurate.

Enhanced DonorPerfect Pledges Are Here

Restrict Access to Products and Categories with Require Login

Looking to offer exclusive access to specific storefront content? You can now enable Require Login on both individual products and entire categories.

Products: When Require Login is enabled, users must log into their Donor Portal to view the product. If the product is displayed via shortcode, the Add to Basket button is hidden until login.

Categories: Enabling Require Login on a category will restrict access to it and all of its subcategories. Users will be redirected to the login page if not authenticated.

This is ideal for:

Organizations that need to restrict who can view and donate to specific categories—ensuring that only users with an account and the ability to log in can access category pages and their contents.

Use this feature to maintain compliance, manage access, and tailor your storefront experience to known supporters.

We’ve updated our Privacy Policy — here’s what’s new.

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and compliance with international data protection standards like GDPR, we’ve added a new section that explains how Givecloud retains data only as long as our relationship with the nonprofit organization remains active. Once that relationship ends, we securely delete or return donor data in accordance with legal requirements and controller instructions.

There’s no change in how your data is handled — just greater clarity on the policies we already follow to safeguard the trust you place in us. You can review the updated Privacy Policy at any time here.

You’ll Never Miss Test Mode Again

We’ve redesigned how test mode appears across Givecloud to eliminate confusion and build confidence. Whether you’re testing internally or showing off to stakeholders, it’s now clear when you're in test mode—and how to switch to live. What’s new: In the Admin:

“Test Mode” label now in the top-left menu Bold red styling with helpful tooltip: “Your default gateway is set to the GC test gateway. Set this to a live gateway to start processing payments.”

New "Issued In" Field Enables Tax Receipt Compliance where required

To better support compliance, Givecloud now allows organizations to manually set the "Issued In" location on tax receipts. This replaces the previous default, which used the organization's registered country.

What's new:

  • Custom "Issued In" setting: You can now define the city, town, or municipality where receipts are issued.
  • New merge tag: Use [[issued_in]] to insert this value into custom tax receipt templates.
  • Default fallback: If no location is set, the system will continue using your registered country.
