Individual / Organization Support

It's about time. We know ;) You can now track individual vs organization donations - and more!

To get started, go to Settings & Admin > Account and look for the new Account Types panel. You'll be able to manage the different account types, add some, remove some and choose which ones show up on your payment forms.

You can also map the Account Types over to DonorPerfect's Donor Types to keep everything in beautiful harmony.

NOTE: This feature is only supported on locked website themes. Need your theme updated to support this new feature, contact support@givecloud.co

Improved Tribute Tracking in DonorPerfect

Donor Title / Prefix Support

Mr, Mrs, Ms, Dr, Prof... Now you can track the donor's title.

To start, go to Settings & Admin > Accounts and find the settings panel for Donor Title.

Fix FedEx Integration

We fixed an issue that prevented FedEx from returning valid shipping quotes. Prior to this fix, anyone using FedEx may have experienced an issue getting live quotes to display on their checkout screen.

Improved Payment Provider IP Tracking

We've improved the IP address that is sent to your payment provider when processing payments. Prior to this update, we were sending Givecloud's IP address each time a payment was processed. Now, when possible, we'll pass the donor/customer's IP address to your payment gateway. This allows your payment gateway to better understand the risk factors involved in processing the payment.

Smarter Email Notifications

These email notification features have been designed to help you automate more of your donor communication.

There are three new notification types:

  • Recurring Donation Successful
  • Sponsorship Started
  • Sponsorship Ended
  • Membership Expired
  • Sponsorship Anniversary
  • Sponsorship Birthday
  • (more to come :)

You can also offset the day when your email notifications are sent to be x days before or x days after the triggered date.

Here's some ideas:

  • Hey Adam! Your Gold Membership is about to expire in 30 days! Click here to renew!
  • Dear Carla, A year ago, you started sponsoring Sam. Want to honor this occasion by sending Sam a gift?
  • Dear Carla, It's Sams birthday is just 5 days away! Want to give him a gift?
  • Hey Adam - Your Gold Membership expired yesterday!

Head to Settings & Admin > Email to start using these new settings!

Recurring Donations & Manual Charges

We heard you! You can create recurring donations that are NOT AUTOMATIC using the Point of Sale. Simply add a recurring item to the order and process the order with cash or check. Givecloud will create the recurring donation as a manual donation that is not automatically charged. When viewing the Recurring Payment Profile, you can use the gear icon and select "Charge Now" to manually charge ANY recurring profile - even automated ones.

Sponsorship Status Improvement

We've improved tracking for the 'is sponsored' status of your children.

There's a new setting that allows you to define the number of sponsors required per child before a child is considered sponsored. For example: maybe it takes 4 sponsorships before a child is considered sponsored. Givecloud can properly track that a child is only fully sponsored when that threshold is reached.

PayPal is LIVE

Over the last 3 weeks, we've been slowly releasing our new PayPal support.

What's included?

  • Allow donors to pay using PayPal.
  • Allow donors to set-up recurring donations with a PayPal account. Givecloud will automatically process PayPal accounts each month.
  • Allow donors to save their PayPal account as a payment method on their account.
  • Givecloud automatically receipts all PayPal receipts.
  • If you are connected to DonorPerfect, Givecloud passes the PayPal payment into DonorPerfect for you.

Enable PayPal today. Go to Settings & Admin > Integrations > PayPal and follow the instructions!

DP Improve TY Letter

We patched TY Letter Codes so they never get pushed to your DP system as a blank string. Prior to this fix, if you didn't set a TY Letter Code, TY Letter Code would be pushed to DP as a blank string which was causing reporting problems in DonorPerfect. We've patched this to push null as per conversations with the DP product team.

Improve Taxes in POS

Improve tax calculations while using the POS to take into account a full taxable address. Look for the additional address settings when you tap the Tax settings in POS.

Mailing Labels

We listened to your feedback and streamlined your tribute letter process. Now, not only can you batch export letters to print, you can also batch export mailing labels!

See the new 'Print Labels' link under the Bulk options in the Tributes report. Check out the Advanced Settings > Mailing Labels for label output settings.

We'll be implementing these mailing labels on other exports soon enough :)
